Miss Meaghan Owens, is an award winning Americana Folk Roots Musician. Raised in an Irish-American musical family, she organically absorbed music within her circle of family & friends, and was largely self-taught until studying Voice under Eudora Shepherd at Beloit College.

Miss Meaghan Owens, is an award winning Americana Folk Roots Musician. Raised in an Irish-American musical family, she organically absorbed music within her circle of family & friends, and was largely self-taught until studying Voice under Eudora Shepherd at Beloit College.
After several years of performing & touring, Meaghan received a scholarship & diploma in Hawaiian Music Performance from the University of Hawaii-Institute of Hawaiian Music (IHM) on Maui. Her IHM group won the Na Hoku Hano Hano Award 2016 for Best Hawaiian Music Compilation Recording. The group was also nominated for Performance of Best Hawaiian Language Songs. Being included in the beautiful traditional knowledge and cultural music of the Hawaiian people is a great honor in her life.https://maui.hawaii.edu/ihm/
Before moving to Nashville, she was nominated for Best Americana/Bluegrass Musician 2007 by WAMI Award (Wisconsin Area Music Industry.) In Nashville, she pursued the publishing and song-writing world with the Sure Fire Publishing family and others.
In 2019, with a scholarship to Donegal, Ireland, she studied Seannós Traditional Irish Singing through the Oideas Gael School in Glencollumcille, IE under her Irish teacher, Geróidín Breathnach. https://colmcille.net/en/colmcille-folklore-with-gearoidin-breathnach/
Meaghan was a national spokesperson, teacher, and fundraiser for 9 years for the Guitars 4 Vets program, assisting injured vets, specializing in applying the healing techniques of music on the PTSD condition. https://guitars4vets.org/
She performs originals & standards in Americana, Classic Country, Folk, Irish & American Roots music of all kinds including: Blues, Jazz, Hawaiian, Vintage, Contemporary Pop & Sacred.
